Clean Shaven

During the 11 years Chad and I have been together, he has always had a mustache and goatee. Today, unbeknown to me, he shaved. I was SHOCKED when he came downstairs clean shaven. Have to admit it wasn't my favorite look on him.

I think he looks so much like his brother now.

Last Day of School

Campbell and I picked up Cooper and T from their last day of school and hit the pool. The girls were thrilled and ready to celebrate the start of summer.

Last Day of School

Cooper had a successful year in Second Grade and has been promoted to Third Grade! Where does the time go? She excelled in Spelling, Math (having mastered addition, subtraction, and multiplication timed tests), Reading, and most importantly maturity and leadership. She is an excellent student who takes responsibility for her actions and always tries to help others. We are so proud of her and thankful that she enjoys school so much. Way to go Cooper!

Campbell is Silly

Our little Campbell sure is a silly girl. She is the kid who attaches herself to every new or "new to her" thing and rolls with it. Yes, summer is here and despite having worn tank tops as pjs all winter long, she is now insisting on wearing her ski socks with her short outfits. Will I ever figure her out?

Look at those silly socks!

Myers Family Reunion

My mom's family were all able to get together and celebrate my grandma's 74th birthday with a family reunion. My grandparents have 5 children. Those 5 children have 16 children. Those 16 children have 30 children. Well you get the picture, there were A LOT of us there.

It was a nice gathering of family. Time to catch up. Talk with people we don't see very often. The kids had a great time. There was a bounce house, games to play, prizes to win, lots of laughs and memories to be made. Breakfast and lunch were delicious and family photos were taken. It was a nice way to spend the day with everyone.

Great Food Truck Race

Manhattan was lucky enough to be a destination sight for the Food Network's Great Food Truck Race tv show this year. The town went wild. People lined up for hours to try some of the food from one of the six food trucks that came to town. Chad could not resist the opportunity as well. So after the initial shock wore off, we ventured down to City Park and found a line to stand in. The weather was cool, cloudy, and almost rainy. The lines didn't move fast, so I took the girls to grab some hot cocoa while Chad waited in line. Finally it was our turn. We chose The Lime Truck and ordered one of everything that was left on the menu. All in all it was good food and a fun experience.

Happy Birthday Grandma Debe

We took a trip to Hope today to visit my mom at The Cafe and wish her a very Happy Birthday. We enjoyed lunch and a quick visit. The girls autographed the "Wall of Fame" and were happy to spend time with Grandma Debe. Those little small town cafes are fun. Everyone knows everyone and they are always excited to see new faces.

CTL Event work

Planning and preparing for Colgin's 10th Annual Memorial Golf Tournament and Milestone of Generosity Celebration Dinner is a big undertaking and no doubt a family, friend, and volunteer collaboration of effort and work. The girls were excited to help work on invitations.

Cooper's Field Day

The day students look forward to, field day. Luckily the weather cooperated just beautifully. The morning session is grades 1,2,and 3. The afternoon session is grades 4,5, and 6. Chad and I were able to watch Cooper perform a few of the competitions. She did really well and enjoyed herself. Another right of passage onto third grade.

Last Day of 2 day/wk Preschool

Campbell's preschool class wrapped up the year with a family picnic in the park. The weather was perfect and the children walked over to the park from school. Campbell enjoyed her 2 day a week class. The teacher's were great, lots of friends kept her company, and the activities were lots of fun. Campbell learned so much. She can write her name and spell both her first name and last name. In the Fall she will attend Preschool everyday in the morning class.

Gifts from Flat Cooper

As part of 2nd Grade, each student read the book, "Flat Stanley" and then made a flat person in their name. Each flat person was then mailed off to take an amazing trip in a new place. After their visit, each flat person was mailed back to the student and then their shared the story of their flat person. To include pictures, souvenirs, and facts.

Instantly Cooper knew she wanted to mail her Flat Cooper to Bryant and Brayden in Hampton, Va. They are the sons of Chad's high school friend Heath. We had met Heath a couple of times when he came out for Colgin's golf tourney. Finally we were able to meet Bryant, Brayden, and Heath's wife, Michele, when we traveled to Va for Chad's high school reunion and a week's stay at the beach with the friends.

Bryant and Brayden were very excited to help Flat Cooper out. They took Flat Cooper all around the history in Va and Heath took Flat Cooper on his trips to Canada and Arizona. When Flat Cooper finally arrived back at our house after her journey, she brought lots of gifts with her.

Pictures, a slide show, brochures, snow globes, and even a game for Campbell. What wonderful friends The Green's were to participate in our Flat Cooper experience and make it a great memory for all of us.

Campbell's Mother's Day Tea

Mother's Day Tea at Preschool is just the best. The children performed some cute songs and actions. They had props to wear and share. The tables were set so pretty with plants, muffins, place-mats, and pictures. The children asked our drink preference and served us. It was a very special day. I love those things handmade gifts too!

The children were dressed as Ladybugs.

Finally, Campbell looks at the camera.

Not sure why Campbell is the only one doing this action. Maybe she was tired?

Second Grade Music Program

All 3 Second Grade Classes performed a wonderful music program. They had been practicing all their songs for weeks. Remembering to coordinate the hand motions, the solo speakers, and the props. It was a fun show to watch and my mom and niece Bailey were able to attend as well. Way to go Cooper!

Campbell's Projects

I try to keep the cute projects and "firsts" the girls make in school. But there are always those projects that won't last forever. So we decided a photo collage would have to do. Here are a few of Campbell's projects from Preschool

Flute Recital

Cooper has been playing the flute for 1 year and she really enjoys it. What has surprised us even more is that she loves to perform for people. With her Flute Instructor and other students she has participated in several flute recitals. The other students are in 7th grade or older. Cooper's friend Julianne has been learning to play the piano and together they have performed twice. They make a great duo! We are so proud of Cooper!
