Spring Break Day 2

Once we arrived in San Antonio, we checked into our hotel that was right across the street from The Alamo. We ventured out to find some dinner and see some sights along the way. This was the night we got serenaded to at dinner for $10, or was it $5, Chad didn't know.

American Girl Store - Dallas, TX

Campbell was owed a trip to a "real" American Girl Doll store, complete with dinner at the restaurant. She has been to the abbreviated store we have in Kansas City, but that doesn't compare to the real big exaggerated store. So while making our plans, we made sure to include a stop at the American Girl Doll Store in Dallas just for Campbell. She was in Heaven as we toured the store, looking at all the options, taking in the new items. It's hard to decide on things when there are SO many options. After we looked around a bit, both Campbell's dolls made a trip to the salon. They needed a good hair do and clean up. It's amazing what they can do with doll hair. When the dolls were done at the Salon, we put our names in at the Restaurant. The restaurant has special chairs for the dolls to sit in, so they sit right up at the table with you. We enjoyed some nibbles and light lunch. It was a special experience for Campbell, so thankful Chad and Cooper stuck it out for the duration. Campbell's smile says it all. She bought a few treasures to take along on our trip too.

Spring Break Day 1

For our Spring Break trip this year, we chose to go to San Antonio, Texas. We have never been there before and we want to visit Brian and Deb Bulley. As we mapped out what we would do and where we would go, we realized our trip would have many stops. We started in Wichita, KS visiting the Guinn's. An overnight visit to rest our sore muscles from the race. The kids got reacquainted and enjoyed their time together. Then we were off to Texas! Before making our stop for the night in Dallas, we paid a visit to the Diglia family. It was great to see Brian, Vanessa, Kaiden, & Gibson. It had been quite a long time since we had last seen them.

St. Patrick's Day Race

As a family we set a goal for 2014 to run/walk the St. Patrick's Day race together. The weather was nice, lucky for us. Chad and Cooper planned to run it and get timed. Campbell and I planned to walk it and did not get a timing chip. Chad and Cooper did well and finished in good time. Campbell, being competitive, did not like my coaching style and eventually gave up running/walking with me. She took off on her own and finished the race before me. I didn't mind finishing last of my family, I was just happy to finish. It was a good goal and as a family we are happy to complete it.

Flute Choir Concert

Cooper made the Kansas Honor Flute Choir and today is their concert. Over the past few months, the choir has been practicing playing together, learning new parts, and trying new instruments. Cooper is the youngest participant in the choir, but that hasn't stopped her. She has been learning so much from her mentors and she isn't afraid to try. We are excited to watch the concert.

Headbands

Campbell had Ashley spend the night tonight. We all played the game Headbands. It's hilarious to watch the person trying to guess what's on their card, when it's so easy to figure out because you can see their card. Laughter and fun had by all.
