Spring Game
Saturday was another busy day. It was the K-State Football Spring Game which meant carnival, tailgating, and bbq contest. Trice was in town to joy in the festivities. We also had Campbell's 15 month dr. checkup w/ 2 shots and neighborhood wine tasting on Friday, a garage sale on Saturday, and family dinner at our house Sunday night. Could we add anything else?? Kelly & Bailey were here, the weather was perfect, and things went well. The girls enjoyed the tailgate and all the attention they got from the boys. The weather is really shaping up. I think Spring is here to stay.

San Fran "Take 2"
Our trip to San Fran actually took place, it was just a day late and very rushed. So Thursday we had to spend a very stormy night in KC. Friday we got up very early and took a flight to Denver, had a short layover, and then flew into San Jose. We rented a car there and drove up to Napa. It was a nice drive and very scenic. We got to the hotel and headed into wine country. We ate at Taylor's Refreshers. A yummy burger joint with excellent garlic fries. We stopped at Napa Wine Company and the Oakville Grocery before going up the mountain to Neal Family Vineyards. We had a great tour from the wine maker and enjoyed our time there a lot. We went back into town for dinner at Press. It was a hot day for April but we enjoyed our dinner, good conversation and company and the view. We settled back into the hotel for a good night's rest. Saturday we headed out over the Golden Gate Bridge into San Fran. We went out on our Alcatraz tour. There is an audio headset with narrators who actually worked or stayed at Alcatraz speaking. It was quite a history lesson. We then went to the baseball game. The Giants were playing the St. Louis Cardinals and it was hot!! Chad and I opted for shaded seats and Beth & Jeremy soaked up the sun. Somehow the Cardinals won the game in extra innings. We went back to our hotel cleaned up and went out on the Wharf. We decided to ride a trolley car over to the financial district to eat at a delicious place called Tadich Grille. We all enjoyed dinner very much. We were all tuckered out at this point and headed back for a good nights rest. Sunday we headed to the airport, returned the rental car, and waited for our non-stop flight back home. All went smoothly and we savored our hot chocolate chip cookies on the flight. We were glad we made the trip, but sad we had to rush so much. All in all we all enjoyed ourselves and the time away. The girls did very well with Aunt Kelly, Uncle Pat, and cousin Bailey. Thanks

Flights Canceled!
So we woke up at 5am and were out the door at 6am. Drive 2 hours in the pouring rain. Park, check in, get some breakfast, and find out our flight is CANCELED!! Yeah, us and 80 other people. Nice!! So we stood in line and waited and waited and waited and waited some more. Finally it was our turn. Options were slim to none. So we had to stay the night in KC and we fly out tomorrow. Have to travel a different airline and make one stop and fly into a different city. But one way or another we are getting there. So wish us and the other hundreds of people without flights Good Luck!

Off to San Fran
Yes, Chad and I are going to San Francisco again! This time we are taking Chad's brother Jeremy and his girlfriend, Beth, along. We fly out of KC tomorrow morning and come home on Sunday. We are spending 2 nights in Napa and 1 night at the Wharf. We are doing 3 wine tours, eating at Press the Restaurant, doing an Alcatraz tour, and going to the Giants vs. Cardinals baseball game. It will be a busy, quick, but fun trip. I'll post more when we return.
Weekend in Wichita
This past Saturday we all went down to Wichita for a baby shower for Brian & Vanessa. It was hosted by The Guinn's and we were all very excited to see everyone again and the girls were excited to play with Maverick. The weather was warm but windy, the kids played and played, and the grownups talked, laughed, drank, ate, and had a fabulous time together. It was a great party. Brian & Vanessa are expecting their first child, a boy, in late June. Brian is the Proprietor of a Carrabba's Italian Grill Restaurant in Oklahoma City and Vanessa is a teacher. They were living in Texas, but are getting ready to relocate to OKC. Bryce & Stacy are expecting their second child, another boy, in May and were gracious hosts. We stayed at Bryce's parents house, which is always fun because Phyllis' house tells a story of their family and there are so many cool things to see and lots of mementos from the boy's childhood. I forgot my camera, so I'll have to add pics once I get some on email. Thanks to everyone for a great time. Congrats on the new babies to come, we can't wait to meet them.
