Snow Day # 3

Due to freezing rain that began last night, the city of Manhattan is closed down for the day. So it's another Snow Day from school for Cooper. Girl Scouts was also canceled for the night. You know it must be bad when even KSU is closed for the day.

We took advantage of the day off and helped Mark with a big CDM project. We completed the task of turning the guest room into a toy room. I am happy to say it looks fantastic! It felt good to do a little work today.

Visit

We ventured up to Iowa for a quick overnight stay to visit my dad and stepmom. We were adventurous and took a new route and were there in less than 3 hours. It was wonderful! Cooper had Girl Scout cookies to deliver to Papa and we invited Papa and Grandma to lunch with us at PF Changs. What could be better on a Saturday afternoon. Back at the house the girls played with their cousins while the adults talked about all sorts of things. It was a quick trip, but well worth it. Glad we got the trip in before all the bad weather hit.

Ice Skating

Tonight there was a Girl Scout Ice Skating event. Chad proudly graced the ice alongside Cooper. He said she did really well and despite a few falls, got back up every time and went after it again. I know she would not have enjoyed it as much if he hadn't been there to join her. He is comfortable on the ice after having played hockey in high school, so I thought it best for him to join her. I'm so glad they had a great daddy-daughter night together.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Due to a Snow Day last Thursday, Campbell's Preschool Teddy Bear Picnic was rescheduled for today. She chose her blue Teddy Bear and she wore the cutest new outfit along with the boots. Aunt Kelly would be proud. She had a wonderful picnic and ate teddy grahams and had juice boxes. They also had a visit from some firefighters with their fire engine. It was a great day!

Crafting

Tonight was just the girls at home, so we started making our homemade Valentine's Day cards. Campbell only had 13 to make, Cooper had 23 to make. With a caseload like that, now you know why we start early. Campbell is all about the rush, rush, hurry, hurry, do as much as you can and fill every last inch of space. Cooper is slow and meticulous and does NOT like to get sticky from the glue. (Cooper is a lot like me.) We had a fun time gluing, cutting, coloring, and crafting. Isn't this what girls are supposed to do?

What a bargain!

Chad and I have an important upcoming event, The A Dress The Heart Gala. So I took advantage of the fact that Cooper had a Girl Scout Cookie Booth in the mall for 2 hours and did a little shopping. I was so excited to find a red dress and shoes!! Now Chad was shocked that I actually tried them both on and bought them both. I am not an avid shopper for myself. And to make it even better total spent was $35. Can you believe it? I know my friend Kris would be so proud. The event is on Feb. 5th, so I'll post pics then.

Snow Day #2

Yesterday the snow started at 9:00 am and continued all day and through the night. The schools let out at 2:00pm yesterday and today is our second snow day! The snow has been beautiful. Peaceful, quiet, cold, still, and just the right amount. Winter has been kind to us so far. No ice or freezing rain, no power outages, no major issues thus far. Let's hope Winter continues on this kind course.

Napping

Today was Campbell's first tennis lesson. She walked right in, told the Coach it was her first day, and told him her name. Then they played tennis. She had so much fun running around chasing balls. Later on that afternoon, this is how I found her. In the kitchen on the floor next to the refrigerator.

Snow Boots

Today was Campbell's first day back at Preschool after Christmas vacation. It was also the day set to celebrate her birthday at school. This required snack, drink, and photos of Miss Campbell through the years. We stopped at the grocery store on the way to school. She was proudly showing off her new snow boots!! Thank goodness Uncle Jeremy & Aunt Beth bought those for her birthday. They have certainly been put to use.

Snow Day Pics

Snow! Winter is here and the Lohman household is excited. Cooper had her first Snow Day from school today. The snow actually started on Sunday night and it snowed all night long. We woke up to a Winter Wonderland. Once I got the girls all bundled up we set out to play outside. Campbell LOVES the snow. Right away it was snow angels, trying to make a snowman, and sledding down the street. It was great fun. Even better was coming inside for hot chocolate!

Sleeping in a Fort

Today was our First Snow Day from school and the girls and I enjoyed watching the snowflakes fall. We went outside to play in the snow as well. Later in the day the girls made a "fort" and kept it up for Daddy to see. Then they sweet talked him into letting them sleep in the fort that night. It was too cute NOT to take a few pictures.

Family Birthday Lunch

Birthdays aren't complete without a family lunch. So we invited family over to continue the birthday celebration. Campbell was having a bit of trouble trying to figure out just when she was going to be 4 or when her birthday activities were going to be over. The fun just seemed to continue for days. It was a low key and quiet party. Nonetheless, Campbell enjoyed the company, attention, and gifts.

Gymnastics Birthday with Friends

On a cold and snowy Friday afternoon Campbell and her preschool classmates got together at Gymnastics for some birthday fun. The Coach was great and kept all the kids active and entertained. We wrapped up the party with cupcakes, juice, and gifts. It was a special celebration for Campbell since her birthday is so close to Christmas and Chad's birthday we try to recognize her birthday as much as we do for Cooper. I think she had a great party!

Happy 4th Birthday Campbell!

Our baby girl turned 4 years old today. It's beyond conceivable how fast these years have gone by. She has gone from baby to toddler to preschooler overnight it seems. She loves us all dearly and follows her big sister around proudly. She is strong, brave, curious, stubborn, sassy, independent, and so different from her older sister. But just as we did for Cooper, we went as a family to the T-Rex Cafe to celebrate Campbell's 4th birthday. She was such a doll and we all had a great time.
