Easter Weekend in Iowa

Easter seems to be the holiday where I take the most pictures. The pictures each year look the same. Sleepy eyes, Easter baskets, egg coloring, egg hunting, and feasting on delicious food. This year we tried something new and went up to dad and Marie's house for the weekend. The weather was nice, the girls enjoyed a change of scenery, and we all enjoyed the element of surprise to make it a special holiday for the girls.

Celebrating Big Daddy's 40th Birthday

Chad and I enjoyed a night out in Wichita to celebrate Bryce's big birthday. In true Guinn fashion, it was a party decorated in gold and black, in a swanky hotel room, with great friends, food, and drink. We cheered on the Wichita State basketball team as they played their hearts out. We laughed until we spilled our wine, lots of wine. We danced until the music was too loud. We stayed up way past our "new" bed time routines. It is always nice to spend time with the Guinn's. Friends through the years, that always make us feel like family.

St. Pat's Race

When Cooper sets her mind to something, she doesn't quit until she reaches her goal. This year it was to run in the St. Patrick's Day 2 mile race. She had support from Taylor, who agreed to run with her. It's always heartwarming to know there are people who believe in your girl even more than she believes in herself. It was a COLD windy day. I mean stand by the fire to stay warm kind of cold. But those two girls pushed forward through the race and finished it! What an awesome feeling that must have been for Cooper.

4th Grade Music Program

Cooper showed off her singing and recorder playing skills tonight at the Fourth Grade Music Program. Always so special to see our girl up on stage. While she acts shy and embarrassed, I know she really enjoys the spot light and appreciates us being there.

Salt Museum Field Trip

Cooper and Chad ventured off with the Fourth Grade classes to Hutchinson to visit the Salt Mines. While I normally would jump at an opportunity to attend a field trip with my girl, this trip to the depths of the far below, is way out of my comfort zone. Stored below the hustle and bustle of life, are grand artifacts of film, movie, and tv. Props and cool stuff that will be forever preserved for all time. They had a good trip and enjoyed seeing the sights.

Cooper flute performance

Cooper was a guest performer at the flue concert tonight. She did an amazing job! What makes me most proud is that all the K-State students applauded her and showed her the same amount of respect shown to any performer. Cooper has a strength deeper than my own. She amazes me with her talents each and every day.

Coach Snyder

Coach Snyder stopped in to visit the 4th grade class today. Cooper was lucky enough to be in that class. Such a special day!
