Chad turns 42!

While Chad has the best birth date for partying, it's also the busiest work day for him of the whole year. The girls and I try to make him feel special and give him some extra birthday fare. As he celebrates a birthday and the whole world celebrates ringing in the new year. We love him so much and hope he has the best birthday ever!

Christmas at the Knight's

We traveled to Grandma Debe & Papa Butch's house to celebrate Christmas. There seemed to be a theme with gifts this year, 31 gifts theme. We played a little music trivia game with Grandma and Papa to get them to guess their gift. Concert tickets to Cher!!

Christmas Day 2013

It's here. Christmas is here! The agreement we have with the girls is they can not get up or go downstairs until 8:00am after they have woke us up and we are downstairs ready for them. I love the excitement they have as they run down the stairs anxious to see what Santa has brought. I hope all their wishes come true.

Christmas at Oma & Opa's house

The Lohman's gather at Oma & Opa's house on Christmas Eve to eat, drink, open gifts, play games, and celebrate the holiday together. This year is extra special with Miss Natalie's arrival. The girls are so anxious to open gifts and get things started. We always have a good time, sometimes too good of a time.

Meet Natalie Rose Lohman

Well, Chad and Campbell won the bet. Baby Lohman was born on December 14, 2013. She is a girl. A beautiful, perfect, healthy baby girl. It was a complete surprise to all of us, including Jeremy and Beth. As we all sat in the waiting room impatiently waiting on news, we shared stories of other babies births. When the big moment arrived, Jeremy came out to the waiting room and revealed a pink flower to signify a girl. We all cheered and shed tears of joy. Welcome to the world Miss Natalie Rose! We love you so much.

Mr. Rooney or just Friday the 13th

Chad is always hard on shoes. This time of year he is especially hard on shoes. Today was no exception. As he walked across the parking lot to Dillons he became aware that the sole of his shoe was coming off. So to avoid flopping in the wind, he decided he would drag his foot across the store. So was it a scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off or just a bad case of Friday the 13th.

Band Concert

The band held a concert today. Cooper enjoys playing the flute and the band did a good job.

Good Deeds

Cooper and Sydney collected items for the Emergency Shelter. This has been an ongoing learning experience as we toured the shelter and volunteered one day at putting up the Christmas trees at the shelter. We are very proud of their dedication and time spent on this project.

Nespor's Wine Tasting

The girls enjoyed participating in this year's holiday wine tasting. Customers enjoy seeing how much they have grown and enjoy visiting with them about their goings on. They were big helpers and it was a successful event.

Holiday Gift Shop

Fifth graders host a Holiday Gift Shop each year as part of their economics unit. Each student must come up with an item to make, sell, and figure profit and loss on their earnings. Cooper chose candy bars and stockings. She had a successful sale and her items were enjoyed by the customers.

Alexander's Mischief

Our elf on the shelf is named Alexander. Each year he returns the day after Thanksgiving to keep and eye on the girls' behavior and report back to Santa. This year Alexander created some mischief.
