Ryland wanted Jake

My nephew, Ryland turns 4 this year and he requested a Jake and the Neverland Pirates birthday party. In true Chad style, he honored Ryland's request and dressed the part. It was a sight to see!

A new flute instructor

For two years Cooper told us she wanted to play the flute. So at the end of first grade we found a great flute instructor, named Ms. Susan, who was willing to teach our 7 year old girl how to play the flute. Ms. Susan really inspired and believed in Cooper. She provided Cooper with opportunities to perform in front of others and really showcase her talents. Cooper enjoys playing the flute and has excelled through the years with her talent. Sadly, Ms. Susan moved away this summer. She did however provide us with the name of a new flute instructor. Today we were able to meet Professor Karen Large. She is a delightful lady, from Florida, who teaches at Kansas State University and has agreed to teach Cooper flute lessons. We are very excited for this new opportunity.

Campbell starts Kindergarten

It is a bitter sweet day as our baby starts Kindergarten. Campbell is excited, happy, and ready to go. Mom & Dad are nervous, anxious, and sad. Isn't this how all parents feel when they send their last child off to school. She is delighted with her teacher and knows a couple friends in class. Parents are encouraged to attend for a few hours on the first day to help fill out paperwork, get acquainted with the routine, and help their child feel at ease and reduce the chance of tears. Only problem is it usually is the parents who are crying. Good Luck Campbell Macy! You will do great!

First Day of School - Fourth Grade

Cooper is starting Fourth Grade! We wish her a terrific year. She is thrilled and relieved that finally (after receiving bad news for the past 2 years) she has the teacher she wanted and she has many of her friends in class with her. Good Luck Cooper!!!

Back to School Night

Tonight is the big night. After waiting all summer long, the girls finally are able to find out who their teacher will be and what friends they will have in their classrooms. Both girls were ecstatic at the results. They love their teachers, (Mrs. S for Campbell & Mrs. E for Cooper) excited to share a class with friends, and look forward to the year.

Family Dinner

Tonight we were able to enjoy a family dinner at Grandma Debe & Papa Butch's house. Kelly, Pat, Bailey, and Ryland joined in the fun. Papa Gene & Nanny also attended. It is a delight to be able to get everyone together to enjoy a meal, visit with family, share news about our lives, and cherish the slow pace of life.

Thank You

We owe a big "Thank You" to so many people for helping watch the girls while I have been working again. Neighbors, family, and friends have all offer their help and we appreciate more than they know. The girls have enjoyed being spoiled and celebrated by all of you. Thank You Oma, Opa, Grandma Debe, Beth, Michelle, Carina, and Ali.
