Myers Get Together

Turning "75" deserves a celebration, and what better way to celebrate than with family. My grandma, Nanny, as we so call her turned 75 years old on June 1st. She and my grandpa raised 5 kids, from which 19 grandchildren were born, from which WAY TOO many great grandchildren were born. ;o) We all gathered at my mom's house in Herington to eat, celebrate, and enjoy the moment together. Family came from Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas to help the festivities get underway. What a great time together! Happy Birthday Nanny!

Last Day of Third Grade

Schools Out for Summer! Today is the last day of Third Grade for Cooper. She had a successful school year with a good teacher. This year she continued to play tennis, take flute lessons, and participate in Girl Scouts. She also had a palette expander installed and a few braces put on her top front teeth. She has been a trooper through it all. The school year included a lot of novel studies, presentations, field trips, and the big Science Fair Project. It was a learning year, not too hard yet not too easy. Let's hope Fourth Grade will be another good year as well. Congrats Cooper! Let's have a great summer.

A Special Graduate

My best friend's daughter, Taylor, graduated from Eighth Grade today. When time itself passes so quickly for your own kids, it passes even quicker for your friend's kids. It seems like yesterday I was holding Taylor as a baby, or watching her toddle around in overalls chasing her dog. Over the years I have listened to her parents talk about her piano skills, her athletic ability, and even more impressive her academics. I was honored and proud to be asked to her eighth grade graduation ceremony of which she was chosen as the girl speech presenter. She is growing up into a fine young lady and all roads ahead lead to success. Congrats Taylor on your graduation!

Campbell's Last Day of Preschool

The end is here. Even now as I type this it makes me sad. Today is Campbell's last day of Preschool. Not only am I sad that she is growing up and going to Kindergarten in August. I am sad that we leave behind these great teachers at Preschool. We absolutely love this school, the teachers, and all the wonderful experiences both girls have had here. We were delighted when Campbell got Mrs. Bahner and Mrs. Queen as her teachers this year. Cooper enjoyed both those teachers so much and learned to read from Mrs. Bahner. We knew Campbell would love them just as much. It has been a wonderful year and we treasure the time Campbell spent there learning, playing, and growing up. The school year ended with a family picnic in City Park, lots of photos, and many tears (mostly from parents.)

Bridging to Juniors

After two years as a Daisy and two years as a Brownie, it was time for Cooper to bridge to Juniors in Girl Scouts. She has done Mother/Daughter Camp, Father/Daughter Camp, the Sock Hop, sold cookies, and many more activities. Her leader Sara Naumann is pictured giving her the new green junior sash. Congrats Cooper on your achievement!
