Lost Tooth
Campbell lost her first tooth today. She is brave, like her sister. She doesn't mind sitting in front of the mirror and wiggling it until out it comes. She was delighted!

Spring Break Day 7
Today would be our last day of vacation. While in Oklahoma City, we knew we had to see the Oklahoma City National Memorial. The weather was much colder and windy in Oklahoma. We found the Memorial and the cold weather kept the moment somber. It was a sad sight to see, but something we needed to see.
The rows of chairs to represent each person that was killed is surreal.
We went inside the museum gift store and read more about the history. We were glad we stopped to see it.
To lighten up the mood and find some lunch, we traveled down the road to the famous Bricktown. We had heard many things about Bricktown, so we had to see for ourselves. The area is full of restaurants and stores. I know if the weather was warmer, it would be full of people visiting.

Spring Break Day 6
Today was said goodbye to the Hotel Indigo and left the great state of Texas. Driving through Texas takes forever. On the drive down, we broke up the drive with multiple stops; but now heading back to Kansas, we knew it was going to be a long drive. The traffic in some cities was thick. The speed at which the drivers drive is excessively high. The size of their Texas trucks is large. I was very glad Chad was driving. It made me quite nervous.
We made our way to Oklahoma City.
It was late, so we found a hotel and checked in. We grabbed some dinner and settled in for the night. Back at the hotel, the girls were ready to hit the pool and hot tub.

Spring Break Day 5
Today we slowed down the pace a bit. We went down to the Riverwalk for lunch. Again, the sun was bright and warm and the day was beautiful. The Riverwalk is such a cool setting with shops and restaurants all around. Something new to see with every turn.
We decided lunch at Hard Rock Cafe would be the treat today. We sat outside on the balcony. It was delightful.
We were heading to Brian and Deb's house for dinner tonight, so we got in the car for some sight seeing. Chad always likes to search out new beers we can't get in Kansas, so we hit a liquor store first. Then we ventured to a quaint little town called Gruene. It was vintage, but fun. They had an outdoor area for a wine tasting. It got started later in the day, complete with food and live music. There were unique shops that included, clothing, decor, books, magic tricks, toys, candy, etc. There was a restaurant on the water in an old mill. The favorite spot was the old fashioned ice cream parlor. It was fun to go exploring with the girls.

Spring Break Day 4
Today the weather was a little cloudy and cooler. We decided to go explore the San Antonio Zoo. The Zoo was full of unique animals, that we certainly don't have here in Manhattan. We watched the elephants do a training session. We fed the huge coy fish in the pond. We saw a huge snake in the aquarium. It was a good day.
Later after the zoo, we went back to the hotel to rest and clean up. We planned to meet Brian and Deb for dinner that night. We ate at Boudro's, which is famous for it's tableside guacamole service. We had a great time.

Spring Break Day 3
Our first full day of exploring in San Antonio. First stop was The Alamo. We opted not to do the tour, so we perused the grounds on our own. It's amazing that so much history sits right there in the middle of the city area. The Alamo is a popular destination for tourists and got busier than longer we were there.
After touring The Alamo, we boarded The Riverboat rides. There was a couple in line in front of us who had twin boys. As the dad was trying to load the stroller on the boat, he needed someone to hold one of the boys, because the mom was holding the other one. So wouldn't you know it, he asked me to hold the little boy. The girls thought that was so funny. He was asleep and cute. It was a nice thing to do.
We cruised all around the city center. The tour guide told the history of the place, the buildings, the greenery, the food, the people, etc. It was a beautiful warm sunny day. Such a fun city to be in.
When the boat ride was finished, we took off on foot around the city to see more sights. There was a beautiful church in the middle of the city.
We made it to an indoor Flea Market area. Cute little stands and shops around selling all kinds of things.
When we ventured back to the hotel, we decided we would do a horse drawn carriage ride.
Afterwards, we walked around inside the mall, where we found a movie theater. We decided to see the Lego Movie. This theater was so cool, because it had reserved seats that were recliners. It was quite a treat.

Spring Break Day 2
American Girl Store - Dallas, TX
Campbell was owed a trip to a "real" American Girl Doll store, complete with dinner at the restaurant. She has been to the abbreviated store we have in Kansas City, but that doesn't compare to the real big exaggerated store. So while making our plans, we made sure to include a stop at the American Girl Doll Store in Dallas just for Campbell. She was in Heaven as we toured the store, looking at all the options, taking in the new items. It's hard to decide on things when there are SO many options.
After we looked around a bit, both Campbell's dolls made a trip to the salon. They needed a good hair do and clean up. It's amazing what they can do with doll hair.
When the dolls were done at the Salon, we put our names in at the Restaurant. The restaurant has special chairs for the dolls to sit in, so they sit right up at the table with you. We enjoyed some nibbles and light lunch.
It was a special experience for Campbell, so thankful Chad and Cooper stuck it out for the duration. Campbell's smile says it all. She bought a few treasures to take along on our trip too.
