We celebrated Chad's birthday 70's style this year. Complete with disco balls, 70's food, music, and clothing. Thanks to all who got into costume and had fun! It was a crazy night. Lots of foods, drinks, laughs, and karaoke. To our surprise the karaoke machine was a big hit, maybe we need to purchase one. We toasted the new year and kept on partying. We are so thankful for great friends and appreciate all the support year round. Next year the big 4-0 will be a destination birthday, so stayed tuned.

Christmas Day
Christmas is Chad's favorite holiday. Christmas is most kids favorite holiday. Our girls are no exception. The one thing I will say is that Cooper does not sleep well the night before, not because she is SO excited to see her gifts, but because she is afraid of Santa coming in to her room at night. Crazy I know, but true. Campbell is in the "love one gift" and "not want to open the other gifts" stage. So once she heard one of her gifts barking, she immediately wanted to open it. After that she was busy playing with her new toy and her pile of gifts was stacking up while Cooper tore into her own gifts. It was a great holiday and we are all very thankful for such wonderful memories made.

Christmas Eve
When we arrive home from Oma & Opa's house we search for the note that Alexander, our Elf on the Shelf, leaves us along with a gift. Last year we all received matching pj's. This year he left us a Mickey Mouse figurine, since we are going to Disney in March. The girls eagerly put their pj's on and set out cookies and milk for Santa. Then it's off to bed!

Christmas #3
Christmas Eve night is traditionally spent at Chad's parents house. We usually go over in the afternoon and enjoy time talking, snacking, playing the Wii, and holding the girls off from opening the gifts too soon. This year Jeremy & Beth were able to be here for the evening as well. The girls argue over who they want to spend the most time with and Ace (the dog) usually wins with Campbell. The girls enjoy the play time and it keeps them occupied before Christmas Day. Oma introduced a new game last year called the grab bag and Cooper just loves being included on the "adult" gift exchange.

Christmas #2
Dinner at my mom's house included celebrating Christmas with family this year. My sister's family, our grandparents, my mom & stepdad, and our family all enjoyed a quiet evening together. Mom had the house decorated to the fullest and the kids were all ecstatic to see all the gifts. Ryland wanted to help everyone open their gifts and usually had someone else's gift open before we could stop him. It was wonderful to have our grandparents there to enjoy the festivities as well.

Christmas #1
The weather made travel easy this year and our weekend together with family at my sister's house was a hit. My sister's family is currently living in a rental house while their new house is being built. The girls are always excited to play with their cousins. The adults are always happy to eat, drink, and be merry. We love to watch the kids rip open their gifts and allow them time to play with the new goodies. Then after the kids have gone to bed us adults take our time opening gifts one at a time and discussing the past year and plan for the new year. It's always a fun weekend!
