Snow in March

We are one week away from Spring Break and this is what we woke up to this morning. Snow! Covering everything around. Kansas weather can sure be crazy at times.

Girl Scout Activity

Cooper joined her Girl Scout troop today in a Community Project of boxing up care packages to send to deployed soldiers. Isn't it great how an hour of your time can make a difference in the lives of so many people.

Sick

Going on Day 3 of Cooper home from school. I think the worst is gone, but better be safe than sorry. She is in good spirits and very restless, but we'll make it through. This sickness started with Chad last weekend and quickly spread to Cooper, who has had it the worst, and now I think I am getting it. Let's hope we can get rid of it all before our family vacation.

On Wednesday Cooper woke up with bright red cheeks and a cold. She was in good spirits, but very tired. Dr. visit only revealed a negative for strep, so back home we went. That night she woke up in tears and was coughing. She said her throat was hurting very bad. Motrin, Vicks, and a lot of TLC from mom was all I could offer. It's just the worst to see your babies in pain. Thursday she watched movies in bed and slept a lot. I think that was the best thing she could do.

Ortho Appt

Cooper had her annual orthodontist appointment today. Why my daughter is so excited about getting braces one day is beyond me! We knew early on she would need some intervention to help make her smile what it should be. (I just say she has Chad's teeth.) Finally after 3 years, the doctor said we will start the process in six months. Cooper has a cross bite, so the first thing they need to do is put in an expander. This will help build some space for incoming teeth and widen her bite. They may also put a few braces across her top front teeth. We just have to wait and see how things look in September. But for now, Cooper is excited and marked the date on her calendar.

Mardi Gras

To celebrate Mardi Gras this year, the group of friends decided to attend the 2nd annual "Krewe of Allegawahoo" party. For such a formal affair, the guys needed black tie, the ladies of course needed party dresses, and everyone HAD to wear a mask. The party was complete with decorations, cajun food, photo booth, fabulous band, and plenty of drinks to make for an excellent time. We all enjoyed ourselves and had a ton of fun. More party pics to come!

Kelly & Pat's new house

Today I was so excited to go see Kelly & Pat's new house. Kelly took the day off and us girls needed to get things organized, rearranged, unpacked, and put away. To all of us this process has gone super fast. They purchased some land, decided to go with a Kan-Build house and put it on a basement, build a "shed" and make the good ole American dream come true. I think it was a 4 or 5 month process.

The house looks great! I know Kelly and Pat are both excited to have something they really want and to have had the input in every direction sure makes a difference. Once they get the basement finished and a little landscaping complete it will really start to come together. The kids are so thrilled to have a new place to call home and one they will be at for a long time.

It was a long hard day of work, but in the end I think Kelly was happy with the progress we made on things. And even though there is still a lot of work to do, they have a nice home to make memories in and build a great life together. Congrats guys!
