Wildcats beat the Jayhawks 84-75!!!

The streak ends tonight. The Cats were leading at half time and remained in the lead until the very end. The crowd was going wild. It was so loud! Students were rushing down to the floor. The security staff had no idea how to handle the chaos. The floor was so crowded that nobody could move. The crowd had Willie out there body surfing, along with other people. It was an amazing night!!

BTW, the Cats have lost at home to the Hawks for the past 24 years. So this is definitely a victory worth celebrating.

Go Cats!! We are having "chicken" for dinner tomorrow. ;o)

Ski Trip Countdown

One week from today we will head out towards Angel Fire New Mexico for our first family ski trip.

Let's Go Wildcats!!

Tonight is the KSU vs KU men's basketball game at 7 pm.

At 9am this morning there were 1,000 KSU students waiting outside Bramlage Collesium to be the first students into the game tonight in hopes for the best seat in the house! The temperature outside is 39 degrees, they are lucky the snow came yesterday and will hold off until tomorrow.

Citizen's of the Year

Last night Chad and I attended the Tri-County Annual Chamber of Commerce dinner in Herington, KS. My sister is on the Chamber board and the event was a big deal in our family. Unbeknown to my mom and Butch, they were getting presented with the Citizen's of the Year award. First they couldn't figure out why Chad and I were there for dinner, so we tried to pull that one over on them. But as soon as the speaker started introducing the couple, mom looked over at us right away and knew something was up. My grandma, Kelly, Pat, and Bailey were all there to see them accept their award. Of course Butch's speech was short and sweet, "Go Jayhawks, Thank You!" We are very proud of them.

City League Basketball

At what age does one realize they are too old to be doing things they used to do and thought they were good at? Well 36 isn't it yet.

Chad has joined a men's city basketball league. Along with his friends, the same friends who think the WWS (Wide World of Sports) is a way to prove their manhood, Chad's basketball team hasn't won a game yet this second season. But who's counting! ;o)

Sunday night they had an early game, so the girls and I and Uncle Jeremy went out to support the team and rally up some cheerleaders. We were pleasantly surprised at one point when they were ahead in the game, but again in the end they lost the game.

I can't grumble too much, as Chad is exercising and doing something healthy. I don't think his body wants to agree with his methods though.

Lazytown

Here at the Lohman House, we love when Trice comes to visit because our weekend turns into a little something we call "Lazytown." It's everything you can imagine; sleeping in, eating, napping, watching tv, napping again, eating again! It's lots of fun and Cooper loves Lazytown and loves Trice. They usually end up having a pillow fight, wrestling around, or planning the next slumber party. ;o)

The Hitchings were nice enough to watch the girls while Chad, Trice and I went to the KSU Men's bball game. This kind of weekend usually involves ordering Pizza Shuttle, of which we did. A good discussion usually evolves about the upcoming football season, future trips, and life in general. A good weekend was had by all.

A Big "Thank You"

As we prepare for the Seventh Annual "Colgin Tanner Lohman" Memorial Golf Tournament I thought I'd ask the Foundation how much total money has been donated in Colgin's honor over the past 7 years. Margie got back to me today and I was delighted to see the total. Thanks to so many thoughtful family and friends a total of $39,567.07 has been donated. Which means on average each year we have raised $6,594.51. Not too bad for a two parents who'd never hosted a golf tournament before, but just had a lot of connections and generous people on their side. So a big "Thank You" to everyone out there who have donated, participated, contributed, volunteered, and been there for us through this process.
